BLAINE, Minn. (March 25, 2021) – The Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC) has announced grant recipients and an additional opportunity for submission for the 2020 James Metzen Mighty Ducks Ice Arena Grant Program. The program provides financial assistance to Minnesota communities to improve indoor air quality in ice arenas and to eliminate the use of R-22 systems in ice arena refrigeration.
Awarded communities include:
City of Albert Lea
City of Alexandria
City of Anoka
City of Bagley
City of Champlin
City of East Grand Forks
Delano Ice Arena
The 2020 grant program was funded by an appropriation of $2 million in the state bonding bill.
Remaining funds will be available through a second round of submissions due Monday, June 7, 2021. Grant applicants must have at least one local partner who is a political subdivision of the state, and all grant applications require a minimum one-to-one dollar match from non-state sources.
