The hockey and figure skating season are in full effect, and there is no better time to learn how to skate than right now. The National Sports Center’s Skating School offers a year-round Learn to Skate program at the NSC’s Super Rink.
Learn to Skate takes place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from September through May. All classes are slotted for half-hour skating lessons with professional instructors with expertise and professional backgrounds in figure skating. The Fall 2019 session consists of 10 levels where skaters must pass the required skills in order to advance to the next tier of the Ice Sports Industry (ISI) Learn to Skate program. The ISI progression of testing has been used by facilities around the country for the last 60 years.
There are additional fall skating opportunities for those interested in adding more training to fast track through the Learn to Skate levels. Participants can use their personal skates or can rent skates at the Super Rink for a $3 charge.
