Who will replace the drip Stefon Diggs left splattered on the floors of TCO and U.S. Bank Stadium? Will it be rookie Justin Jefferson who looks to replace Diggs on the field as well? Or another rookie like Cameron Danztler whose obsession with sneakers stands out?
Just like on the field, the 15 rookies that the Minnesota Vikings drafted in 2020 will have to prove their swagger off the field to players like Eric Kendricks, Mike Hughes and Anthony Barr who have all set the bar high for game day fit-pics. Be on the look out for what Vikings staff photographer Janaye Johnson shoots next!
Athleisure
Josh Mettellus- Round 6, Pick 26
Cozy has been in for a while now thanks to Kith and Nike’s tech fleece. Michigan safety Josh Mettellus loves that fit. Clothing from Cuts will have Metellus wearing monochromatic colors when stepping onto the plane for away games.
Troy Dye- Round 4, Pick 26
Oh what I wouldn’t do to be a Oregon athlete. Imagine getting player exclusives and any Nike/Jordan item you want. Dye has custom Nike’s hidden away, but he stays true to the Nike based school by honoring the brand and wearing its Nike Tech Fleece options. It’s pretty much the ‘I’m an athlete and don’t want to play one on one right now, but I could’ look. Believe it or not, the look is stylish as heck and among the most casual look of today’s athletes. Just ask Giannis.
K.J. Osborn- Round 5, Pick 31
K.J. was born in Michigan but basically spent his adult life in Florida. And if I know anything about Florida style it’s that you can guarantee K.J. will come to game day wearing socks with flip flops. K.J. has very simple style—sleek and usually includes Jordan’s. I think the wide receiver will exit out of his car in Vikings warm up gear wearing a chain and holding up Miami’s famous “U.”
Nate Stanley- Round 7, Pick 30
A ¾ zip-up and sweatpants. That is all.
Drip
Justin Jefferson- Round 1, Pick 22
Jefferson’s wardrobe might be just as exciting as the way the first-round receiver plays. Jefferson not only led the national champion LSU Tigers in receptions in 2019, but he also tied for the FBS lead with 111 (for 1,540 yards, 13.9 yards per catch) in 15 starts. Jefferson sure does have big shoes to fill for the Vikings in 2020. Stepping into a new role, Jefferson’s style is unique and resembles another NFL fashion icon, Odell Beckham Jr.
Harrison Hand- Round 5, Pick 24
My bet is on the Temple DB for this year’s best dressed. Another football product of Texas, the Temple DB likes to show off his legs by wearing colorful capris or short shorts matched with some Vans. Hand proved that his style was universal when he suited up at Leigh Steinberg’s Super Bowl party.
Jeff Gladney- Round 1, Pick 31
Gladney is one of the 30 million visitors The Galleria sees each year. It’s less than a six-hour drive from TCU and his hometown of New Boston, Texas. Expect a Rockstar-like attire such as Regime from the first-round cornerback who just received his custom grills from legendary Johnny Dan & Co. out of Houston. Gladney will for sure smile in all pictures.
Cameron Danztler- Round 3, Pick 25
Another addition to Zimmers backfield, Danztler wears a 32×36 pant. The 6’2” 188 lbs. corner from Mississippi State looks to replace Xavier Rhodes in 2020. Danztler has a love for retro shoes and doesn’t have a preference between classic Nike joints or the latest Yeezy’s. What do you think Danztler arrives to game days wearing? You can bet on skinny jeans, but don’t be surprised if one of the top SEC cornerbacks from last year is wearing his own brand. He lately teamed up with No Kid Hungry and created his own t-shirt, and for every shirt sold, Cam is going to donate $2.
Kenny Willekes- Round 7, Pick 11
Expect the DE to be crazy off the line and as he enters U.S. Bank Stadium. Yes, the Michigan captain rocked a buzz cut at the combine in March, but I can almost guarantee he’ll have his hair grown out by the time the season comes.
Classy
Ezra Cleveland- Round 2, Pick 26
Suit it and boot it. Boy, ya look good! Alexander Mattison and Ezra Cleveland prove that men in Idaho can dress well! Ezra is one of those linemen that looks good in a suit and knows it! I think he and O’Neil will compliment each other just fine. Expect Janaye Johnson to shoot Cleveland arriving to the stadium in style wearing a custom suit, Bose headphones and a maintained beard courtesy of Gillette.
D.J. Wonnum- Round 4, Pick 11
DJ Wonnum lead the SEC in tackles for loss last year. And he could lead the Vikings’ defensive line in dressing classy as well. He’s a belt guy, and he’s going to let the world know it.
