Saturday was championship day at Target USA Cup. Games ended and it is time to say good bye to all the new friends we have made over the past week. This year’s tournament brought new and old teams together from around the world through the game of soccer. Before we close out the tournament until next year, we have a new group of teams, players, referees, staff, and fans that make this event happen. Meet our final 2019 Faces at the Cup for Saturday, July 20, 2019.
WBSC – Boys U16 Team
These boys are three-year veterans of Target USA Cup. Being a local team from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, they have just a short commute to join us. Over the course of the tournament they have enjoyed having Target come aboard as the sponsor and provide new and exciting things to do around the tournament.
Fond du Lac – Girls U15 Team
As first year participants in Target USA Cup, these girls have had the a great time. Coming from Wisconsin, they set out to have a lot of fun playing soccer. This has been an experience for the Fond du Lac girls who have not been in an international tournament before. They have all loved it though and hope to come back in the future.
Byron – Boys U14 Team
Another Minnesota participant, these boys are also enjoying their first time in the tournament. The team drove two hours north to join us. They have all enjoyed the whole experience from opening ceremonies where they got to know the other teams, to trading pins with people they met.
Academy Sports Club – Girls U12 Team
It would be hard to find a team that likes to play soccer as much as these girls from the Cayman Islands. They are first time participants and have had a blast playing all the teams. The Academy Sports Club girls are always ready to play soccer and have enjoyed being to play every day this week.
