On July 16-20, soccer teams from across the world journey to the National Sports Center (NSC) to play in the 2019 Target USA CUP. Goals will be scored on every field throughout the five-day tournament, but in this year’s tournament, each goal will go toward a cause greater than a game outcome.
For every goal scored at the 2019 Target USA CUP, Post Cereals will donate 25 boxes of cereal to Second Harvest Heartland. Donated Post Cereal boxes will be distributed by Second Harvest Heartland to food shelves, food pantries and other meal programs across Minnesota in an effort to curb hunger.
Players from 652 teams are presented with another incentive to score goals during the tournament, including teams that represent 95 Minnesota communities.
“Post Cereals has a long history of supporting Second Harvest Heartland and its efforts to help feed families in need,” said Roxanne Bernstein, chief marketing officer of Post Consumer Brands. “As a sponsor of the Target USA CUP, we thought this would be a great way to raise awareness of the issue of hunger in our communities and engage soccer families in kicking hunger.”
As a non-profit, the NSC takes pride in positively influencing many Minnesota families.
“Target USA CUP and the National Sports Center are both dedicated to making a difference in the community,” said Sara Soli, the NSC’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We love this creative partnership with Post Consumer Brands. It’s a perfect way for Target USA CUP to make a positive impact.”
Along with its donation pledge, Post Cereals will be on the NSC’s campus at Target USA CUP. Spectators will be able to sample a variety of Post brands, take photos in its activation zone and practice soccer with a goal. Post Cereals encourages players to celebrate their goals by tagging #KickItWithPost on social media.
