Goons, minions and goblins played at the National Sports Center’s Indoor Sports Hall last weekend for the annual Kick-or-Treat Soccer Tournament. More than 80 youth and high school soccer teams played in at least three games for the event that kicked off the indoor soccer season.
Teams were encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and participate in a costume contest to receive a team package from Urban Air Adventure Park Coon Rapids. The trampoline park provides physical, social and mental challenges that tie in the STEM curriculum and count toward physical education minutes required by most school districts.
Kick-or-Treat allowed players to step away from their Tik-Toks and get a group of friends or club team together to compete in a soccer tournament where creativity for dressing up like their favorite movie character or superhero was awarded. The 12th annual 4v4 tournament crowned 14 champions within their respected divisions. Despite all the blood-spattered shirts and zombies running around, no one was harmed during this tournament.
