Kick-off for the 35th annual USA CUP soccer at the National Sports Center in Blaine is just three weeks away. This year’s tournament, set for July 12-20, is tracking to attract close to 1,200 teams from 20 different countries.
But the international dynamic of the tournament can also be seen among the corps of referees. Among the nearly 500 referees expected to attend, 17 countries will be represented.
Here’s the country line-up for referees at the 2019 tournament:
Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Sweden, and the U.S.
Interestingly, Chile, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Romania and Scotland will send referees, but not teams.
