“It’s fun just seeing that whole broad range of people growing up. It allows me to tweak my coaching skills. This is the first time I’m coaching men with Minneapolis City, which has been different. It’s much faster, you get to yell a little bit more, but it’s been fun.”
“Alli Lipsher is a boss in every sense of the word. She’s one of my best friends, and I’m happy to see her transition into this really awesome role. She’s somebody who kept me under her wing and was like ‘you can be in these spaces’ and ‘you can exist in these spaces and you should.’ I will always be grateful for her for taking me under her wing and showing me how to be a boss and how to really stand up for yourself and be confident.”
“I think my main driver for being in this profession is just helping people be better humans. I love soccer, we all love soccer, and it’s amazing that that is our vehicle to get to drive these really awesome and big and powerful life changing moments. All these good skills: you know how to communicate, how to be on a team and how to be confident. Young girls need that. They need that confidence.”
“Respect is a really big key. If you don’t respect yourself, you’re never going to respect anybody else. So, I like to start there. If you’re the player that makes a mistake, and your head goes down… you’re not respecting yourself. We’re allowed to make mistakes. We’re allowed to learn, and it’s how you respond to that mistake that reveals your character.”
