Chris Schulz offers unique program
The National Sports Center has long offered a variety of sports and active programs to meet the needs of the community. We are excited to share that our partner, AKASPORT, now offers sport-based programs before school and during school release days at the NSC Expo Center.
AKA SPARK, presented by AKASPORT, will ensure your kids start their day right with fun physical activity by offering before school care. Kids will spend their mornings being active with friends, finishing homework, reading and more. Kids will then be bused to any school within the Spring Lake Park District.
AKA Holiday Break Days are an extension of the All Sports Camp with days being divided into free play, focused sport play and instruction, lunch time, relax/reading time and more! Keep your kids active over Winter Break, Spring Break and many additional days when they are out of school throughout the year!
AKASPORT Founder and Executive Director, Chris Schulz, answers some questions about these exciting new programs.
How are AKA programs different than other programs out there?
“There’s variety and a focus on keeping kids active vs. focusing on competition and perfection. Our staff memembers are college students looking to make an impact. Our program welcomes art, science and we take amazing field trips. Teaching kids to love being active for life is what we’re all about.”
Who should sign up for AKA SPARK and Holiday Break Days?
“Programs are currently offered to boys and girls in grades K-8. Any kid who enjoys being active or wants to learn more new sports and games should consider an AKA program. We can help build skills while keeping sports fun!”
“Our AKA SPARK Before School Care program is currently open to students within the Spring Lake Park School District due to transportation, but we are currently working on adding districts for Fall 2020.”
