Golf simulators have long been a topic of discussion at Victory Links Golf Course. In previous years, finding the proper space to house a simulator has been challenging. This year, however, Head Golf Pro Tom Kirkland convinced NSC Executive Director Todd Johnson to invest in a TrackMan Golf Simulator that fits inside the NSC Grand Hall during the winter months.
The TrackMan opened up the first week in January and is bolstered by dual-Doppler radars, not cameras like other simulators, that can believably replicate a ball’s trajectory using advanced flight and terrain physics, if you really wanted to get specific. And thanks to GPS technology that maps courses down to the last inch, these simulators also come loaded with some of the grandest golfing destinations in the world. “The TrackMan simulators are top of the line in terms of technology, support and user-friendliness,” Kirkland said. “Their computer system is widely used on both the PGA and LPGA tours and can provide for a practice session and virtual golf experience that is second to none.”
