The 2024 “Fund for Play: Battle of the Bags” event turned out to be a great success, with an exciting atmosphere and increased participation compared to last year.
For those unfamiliar, Fund for Play is dedicated to enhancing adaptive sports participation at the NSC. The funds raised through events like “Battle of the Bags” are intended to purchase specialized equipment, making sports more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. This tournament was kept straightforward with a single, casual division, allowing participants of all skill levels to join in on the fun. There was an impressive turnout of 12 teams, totaling 24 participants. This marked a notable increase from last year’s 8 teams, highlighting the growing popularity and community this event holds!
We’re thrilled with the increased participation this year and the growing interest in the Fund for Play initiatives. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, aiming for even more teams and higher community engagement. Thank you to all participants, supporters, and volunteers who made this event possible. Together, we’re making strides towards more inclusive and adaptive sports opportunities at the NSC.
